Eco-design in the interior of an apartment and a country house
Eco-design is based on the creation of a functional and harmonious space in the interior of the house using environmentally friendly, natural, and safe materials such as wood, stone, linen, wool, cotton, etc. Furniture, finishing materials, and other accessories are made from these materials, which are an integral part of the interior. Creating some decor elements with your own hands gives a certain charm to the interior of an apartment or a country house.
Interior of an apartment or a country house in eco-style
Ecological design is widespread in Europe and North America, where people, tired of the bustle of the city, seek solitude and harmony with nature. That is why they tend to leave the city, where they can embody their fantasies and ideas in the interior of their own home.
Eco-design helps to abandon everyday stereotypes. For example, instead of placing a sofa in front of the TV in the living room, you can place a couch or a hammock here and enjoy reading your favorite book or listening to music. A soft carpet, a mat, rattan chairs, a low table made of glass or wood, and large windows are all elements of eco-design in the interior of an apartment or a country house.
One of the important rules that designers use when creating the interior of a house or apartment in an eco-style is fewer objects and more light. Open space simplifies life, frees the room from unnecessary trash, and has a positive effect on the human psyche, helping to relax and be alone with your thoughts. Eco-design involves such a layout in the house, where light penetrates almost every room, i.e. preference is given to natural light.
Many countries are fighting to reduce energy consumption. Instead of conventional light bulbs, energy-saving, and low-power halogen bulbs are used. Another trend that is associated with eco-design is saving water with the help of “smart” faucets equipped with thermostats and pressure limiters, and even special plumbing that allows you to reuse wastewater.
Types of eco-design
In eco-design, shades of sand, earth, sky, and wood are often present. In general, the use of plants as elements of decor for apartments or houses is not only a beautiful decoration but also cleansing the air in the room.
There are several types of eco-design:
- Landscape design, phyto- and aqua-design – are all variants of ecological design that are associated with the use of natural components: water, plants and stones, shells, pebbles, cones, reed leaves, etc. Such design includes landscaping and
- Phyto design using ikebana principles is widespread in Japan. It involves decorating rooms with live and dry plants.
- Aqua design is the use of the aquatic environment in the interior. Aquariums, fountains, and waterfalls can be located not only in an apartment or house but also in the garden and the area that are adjacent to the house.
gardening, the creation of garden and park plantings, lawns, and slides, and the use of small architectural forms in “green” construction.
Ecological design does not reject the use of modern technology and electronics in everyday life, but, on the contrary, suggests that current technology will add some spice to the environment.
The interior of an apartment or house in an ecological style is not only beautiful and comfortable. This is an attempt to join nature and live in harmony with it.
